Yesterday was unbelievable.

Yesterday was unbelievable.

We summited at 1:37 pm and we cried out way through the last approach. As we stood at the rooftop of Africa, we each said a prayer and soaked in the sights and sounds for about 25 minutes.

We slept at 18,000 ft in Crater camp. Most don’t experience that as some consider it dangerous, but we were fine (just cold). One climber did have to descend at midnight because of health. All are good now and camping at 12,800 ft for our last night on the mountain.

We dropped 6,000 ft in 5 hours … including skiing in our boots for 2 hours.

Danced and celebrated with porters and crew tonight. Tomorrow we leave the gate with our diploma and a life-changing experience in hand. St. Jude must have talked to the Big Man for us.
