At Shira 2 camp tonight. We had a long 12 mile hike today and made a detour to visit the Shira Cathedral. We added rocks to the ebenezer pile there.

Tonight we are at 12,800 feet. Tomorrow is a short 4 hour climb … but it’s steep … to the lava tower.

All is well with the whole group so far. Camp is above the clouds and we are sleeping in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. Again.

Tomorrow night is at 15,200 feet .. so the real altitude test begins!
